Best. Church Lady. EVER.

This is part of a series of Catholic Toddler Letters.  Want to know more?  Click on the tab at the top of the page.

Dear Adam,

Pack your bags, we're moving to San Diego!  I found a Church Lady who wants us!  If you'll recall, that hasn't always been the case for me.

It's okay, San Diego is where my Nana and Grandad live.  We can crash with them.  My Grandad built a real submarine for the pool.

Here's my brother Bobby trying it on for size.
That's it up on the side of the pool.
You'd better just watch it on YouTube:

Plus they're GRANDPARENTS.  My mom says they used to have all kinds of rules when she was little.  But now if we want root beer floats and goldfish crackers . . . for lunch . . . in the jacuzzi, it's not a problem.

And thanks to my mom's best friend from high school (thanks Keeley!) for sending in the picture to us.

My mom is the peanut.

In conclusion:

San Diego

Let's try to be there by Sunday.

P.S. If anyone knows the folks behind "Celebrating Children at Mary, Star of the Sea" in La Jolla, CA please give them a big hug from Frankie and Adam and their Moms.

  1. Yay! I got a co-starring role in the blog!! Thanks, Frankie! I remember all the pool and snack rules at your Nana and Grandad had when I was growing up with your mom, but they let us break them once in a while. And your Nana made the M&M costumes for us. I thought the Tierneys and other big Catholic families would love the Mary Star of the Sea church lady.

  2. Goood post Kendra! I vote San Diego and the submarine LOL....

  3. 1) on the letter at Mary Star - I called the office and was told it was Donna Widmore the Catechetical Minister there. I left my # for her to call me. This never would have happen with the old pastor who was hell fire & damnation. The new one is a singing red haired Irishman.
2)Parents expend all their energy on raising their own children so when it comes to grandkids you can just enjoy them to the max. What's wrong with root beer floats & gold fish and the jacuzzi to clean off afterwards? Sounds good to me.
    3) Those M&M costumes are still alive and well in that plastic bin of halloween costumes I brought to your house that's in our closet. You can revive them any time you want.

We don't always have to agree, where's the fun in that? But no name calling or speculating about what people "really" think or mean.

Sorry, no more anonymous comments. Too much spam/unpleasantness!
