We have a winner of the Monastic Immersion Weekend Giveaway! Thank you all so much for your prayers. Keep ’em coming. And the winner is . . . Kelly M! If that’s you, please email me by Monday at 10pm Pacific.
1. What’s something you intended to do today, but didn’t?
Update: I finished the yearbook, whew! And the packing. But thank God for the internet, because I guess I’m ordering curriculum from Chicago this summer.
2. What’s your favorite grilling recipe?
1/2 cup mayonnaise
5 ears corn, husk and silk removed
1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
|
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
|
1. | Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat and lightly oil grate. |
2. | Brush a thin layer of mayonnaise on each ear of corn. Sprinkle the corn with the Parmesan cheese, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Wrap each ear with aluminum foil and place on the grill. |
3. | Grill, turning occasionally, until the kernels begin to brown, about 10 minutes. |
It’s easy, if a bit messy, and my kids love it too.
, The Revolution of John XXIII: The Second Vatican Council
, Francis: The Pope from the New World
, and John Paul II: I Kept Looking for You
.
The movie I actually saw most recently was God’s Not Dead. I found it to be . . . unsubtle, and have doubts about its ability to be an effective tool for evangelization.
4. Would you say your tendency is to over or under react to medical situations?
Under react for sure. I’m just always, generally, pretty sure it’s going to be fine. Whatever IT is. And so far it always has been. But my poor husband must live in fear that he’s going to come home one day and find me unconscious, having assured the kids I was fine and to not call 911 and disturb the whole neighborhood.
5. Do you squeeze the toothpaste tube or roll it?
I use prescription toothpaste.
Saying that always makes me think of this guy:
It comes in tiny tubes that are not really rollable.
But . . . I’d squeeze either way.
6. What are you doing for Father’s Day?
We had a Father’s Day celebration with MY dad, who is six kinds of awesome, last weekend, and then our family celebration with Jim this week, because we watch Pinocchio every Father’s Day, and then we head for Chicago to see Papa just in time for actual Father’s Day. The dads and big kids will be taking in the Sox game. The moms and little kids will be taking a nap.
For next week I’m tagging:
Natalie from Here I Am. Post to check out: Sleeping With Men
and
Madeline from A Dash of Snark. Post to check out: The Death of Barnes and Noble
Next week’s questions for them and for you are . . .
1. When’s the last time you got a new bathing suit?
Next week’s installment will go live at 10pm Pacific Saturday night, and will be open until 10pm Wednesday night.
So, please, answer this week’s questions for yourself in the comments. If you have a blog, answer the questions there, link back to this post, and link your blog post up below. Thanks for playing along.
